~counting my blessings~

i am reminded daily by isabella's smile, just how blessed i am.
hope you all had a fantastic thanksgiving.
tuesday morning was grandparents day at isabella's school.  they did a super cute performance (sooo proud of her) & then we all had breakfast together.
couldn't be more thankful for these moments. . .

notre dame academy 'fun run'

isabella's school had a fund raiser, 'fun run', to raise money for technology (more ipads) at their school.  it's one of their large fund raisers that included the kids in pre-k all the way up to the middle school 8th graders.  the kids were to run as many laps as they could around the soccer field.  they did it by class, so the pre-k's went first of course.  parents & teachers ran with them, while the rest of the school cheered them on.  so fun & what great school spirit they all had.  the fun included a dj (so lot's of fun music), the chick-fil-a cow, the marist school war eagle mascot & popsicles for all the kids when they finished.  poor isabella was not herself with a cold, but she did 2 laps & we're so proud of her & all the kids at nda !!  they raised over $34,000 - way to go nda !!

'fall happenings'

i know it's now the middle of november, but i never posted about our halloween weekend.  saturday afternoon/night, our town had a bunch of activities for the kids at the town green & the store owners handed out candy while the kids passed by.  i'm not a fan of the princess costumes, but anyone with a 3 or 4 yr old knows that princess' are their world.  my child is no different & of course had to wear her rapunzel dress.  she rode a pony & we took a hayride through the local cemetery.  it was a super chilly night, but lots of fun!

we've had pure craziness around here the past month.  with pre k & all the activities that go with it, random household mishaps, shopping for windows & doors to replace in our entire house (this i take NO credit for - my husband should get all the praise) & all of the regular day-to-day that also occurs.  i'm so behind on my posts, but will catch up since this is how i document bella's life.  with halloween come & gone, it marks the beginning of the holiday season.  we're already talking about all the fun activities we have planned & someone's getting very excited.  let's not forget miss bella's 4th birthday is right around the corner !!  i am never ready for her birthday.  it marks another year spent with an amazing little girl!  even though it means she's another year older (sniff-sniff), we'll still celebrate 'her' & her amazingness!!
so 3 weeks ago, we took isabella to see the princess' on ice (she LOVED it) & while we were gone, our frontloader washing machine malfunctioned & basically ran water onto our laundry room, kitchen floor & down into our basement for 3 to 4 hours while we were gone - nice huh?!  so after having serve pro dry it out for a  few days with their huge fans & humidifiers, the floor under the tile was still soaked.  so our entire kitchen floor needs replacement.  they ripped it up over a week ago & ran the fans again.  we've been living on subfloor for a week & a half now. . . .  it's no fun at all.  so hopefully next week we'll have a new kitchen floor, if we can decide on what we want our new floor to be ;-)  lesson learned, 'don't run your washer when you're not at home' - you never know what can happen.

today, while daddy is away, us girls are spending a 'girls' day together.  here's to whatever the day brings us!

a couple weeks ago we spent a whole saturday up in north ga at stonewall falls & then stoped at a pumpkin patch on the way home.  isabella had a blast exploring the great outdoors.  i sometimes wish she would grow up how i did, with lots of untouched nature outside her back door for her to explore.  the trees were perfect colors the weekend we were there.  our drive up & back was so beautiful - love this time of year!
we stopped at jaemore farms on the way back for our annual pumpkin patch visit.  they had an amazing corn maze, which we were not brave enough to attempt.  there was an actual pumpkin patch & isabella picked her own little pumpkin, right off the vine.  then we bought more (larger ones) at the farmers' market, along with a couple fresh sweet breads (cinnamon apple & pecan), cinnamon donuts & cider.  i can't believe it's now november with thanksgiving & christmas right around the corner.  we're already getting excited with all the fun activities planned.  now if we could only get our kitchen back to normal, things would be good.  i'll explain later . . . . long story.
enjoy the beginning of your holiday season!
