OBX

a great way to end the summer. . . a trip to the outer banks.
we spent last week with some old friends at the beach just relaxing. well, as much as you can chasing a toddler. it was great catching up & the weather was perfect. now back to reality & enjoying some cooler fall weather . . .

pack, pack, pack, pack, pack. . . that's what i'll be spending most of my day today doing. we fly out tomorrow morning to the outer banks, to spend a week with some old friends. i can't tell you how much i am looking forward to 'a break'. it's all isabella & i have been talking about this week - well, it's all i've been telling her about. she continues to make the 'vvummm' sound & move her arms in the air & say 'airplane mommy, airplane daddy'. . . 'yes, we're all going on the airplane'.
i'm hoping that when we return the weather will be more 'fall' like & the trees will show some signs of change. LOVE this time of year & so looking forward to picking out our pumpkins soon. . . well, i'm off to complete the million & one tasks today before our trip & try to accomplish a few before the little pumpkin awakes.

we've been learning our prayers.
here's how tonight's conversation went. . .

me: god bless daddy. . .

bella: yeah. . .

me: god bless g&g nitto. . .

bella: yeah. . . & 'be be' (her paci)

me: god bless g&g ryczak. . .

bella: yeah. . . & 'be be'

you get the idea. . .

we enjoyed a lazy labor day morning at the park & an afternoon playing with our new duck balloon. . . after having to run back to publix to pick up another balloon, since the first ones head got caught in the ceiling fan on the porch. nice, huh? daddy saved the day & got not just one balloon, but 2 more balloons.

she let go. . .
just like i knew she would, eventually.
she went down the slide on her own.
everyday she learns something new & becomes more
independent with such excitement.
i couldn't be happier for her, but i take comfort when she calls
'mommy' whenever i'm out of eyesight, just to be sure i'm still there. . .
i'll always be there. . . even if i have to take a step back at times.
